The gameplay presented in Stellar Blade brings to mind such games as NieR: Automata, God of War and Devil May Cry 5. It was developed by South Korean studio Shift Up, for which this is the first such large-scale project. He handles most of the character designs and illustrations of his company's games, such as the mobage Destiny Child, which recently had a collaboration event with Koei Tecmo's Dead or Alive. Kim Hyung Tae also handles Project Eve's character design. Stellar Blade (formerly known as Project Eve) is an action RPG with a third-person perspective (TPP).

Kim Hyung Tae has a particularly recognizable style, which most of the time disregards realistic anatomy. Studio Shift Up is led by Kim Hyung Tae, who in the past was the character designer of Blade & Soul and the Magna Carta RPG series by Softmax. Nikke's official site has opened, and it also includes a recruitment page. Up to 4 players can play together, and the game will also include simple to use, one-hand only controls suitable for smartphones. Nikke the Goddess of Victory stars an armed resistance group, fighting against metallic lifeforms which invaded Earth.

It seems like the game also includes a cover system similar to old school arcade games such as Time Crisis. Nikke uses Live 2D version 3.3, along with 2.5 Paper Folding, in order to give life to its 2D characters. Shift Up is developing the game using their knowledge from Destiny Child.
